Premier Wins
About Legs and Grand Champion status:
For ARBA Sanctioned Shows, Dwarf Hotots are awarded Legs (winnings towards Grand Champion status) for: (1) first place in a class, ie. Sr. Buck Class, Sr. Doe Class, Jr. Buck Class & Jr. Doe Class, but there has to be a certain number of rabbits to qualify for a first place in a class leg. There must be five rabbits competing in the class and there must be three different breeders represented. (2) Best of Breed. Each of the first place winners in the four classes compete for BOB. After the BOB is determined then (3) a Best Opposite Sex is chosen, which has to be opposite sex of the BOB. In order for the BOS to be awarded a leg, there has to be a total of five or more rabbits of the same sex, Juniors and Seniors, and three different breeders, then a leg will be awarded for BOS. The BOB then competes for a Best in Show win. This is another way to earn a leg. (So the numbers to remember are five and three.)
To receive a Grand Champion certificate, the rabbit has to be registered by an ARBA registrar and has been awarded three legs, which one leg has to be a senior leg, by at least two different judges, If the rabbit meets this criteria, three original leg certificates with registration number and payment is mailed to the secretary of the ARBA. The secretary of the ARBA will send back a Grand Champion Certificate with a grand champion number assigned to this rabbit.

Specialty Club Sweepstakes Points.....
Specialty points are earned at an ARBA sanctioned show and are for your breed specific specialty club , which ours is the American Dwarf Hotot Rabbit Club. The show catalog will list which breeds are sanctioned. If Dwarf Hotots (or any other breed) are not sanctioned for that show, then no points will be earned towards specialty club sweepstakes points. A rabbit that places 1st through 5th receives points. You must be a member of the specialty club at the time of the show to get credit for the points. Specialty points are one of the benefits of being a member of a specialty club.
